For the romantic Apple Geek
Nothing says you care quite like a handwritten letter. And for those that are more familiar with a keyboard than a pen, I'd like to introduce you to the Apple Open wax seal. I thought this was a sweet idea. Only the Apple geeks would understand.

Apple Jackets? ...Seriously?
There are a lot of stupid things out there for us to waste our money on. I found the most ridiculous item for purchase today on the internet. What in the world would anyone ever want an Apple Jacket for?

I can't say NO...
I have a serious problem over committing myself- and today has been one of those days where it all just snuck up on me and I felt like my head was about to explode!
I think I'm going to test out this short two letter expression tomorrow and see how it suits me- but for now- my phone is ringing and you know I can't turn down another invite :)

Se habla Espanol...
Inspired by my recent trip to Puerto Rico, and now that I am eagerly counting down the days till I head off to Buenos Aires, Argentina- I thought no time better than now to commit myself to learning Spanish.
I have just recently purchased Rosetta Stone and it's amazing how fast you begin to pick it up. This program is seriously addictive.
I could really use some latin locals to help me practice as well. So give me a call if you think you can help this gringo habla espanol :) and if you happen to know how to Tango that's even better! I'm studying the local dance before I leave as well.

Captivated by the Land of Enchantment
New Mexico earned the nickname "The Land of Enchantment" because of its incredible scenic beauty and rich mystical history. My Mom & just got back from an amazing long weekend in Santa Fe new Mexico, and I must say- I am Enchanted!
We Stayed at the gorgeous Plaza Real Hotel right off of the town square. This lovely hotel was quintessentially “Santa Fe”. The warm adobe building and painted white wood, add to that a splash of color with the vibrant red chilies hanging everywhere- I felt like I was waking up in a postcard every morning as I enjoyed my coffee and took in the view from our balcony.
The intoxicating aroma of chilies in the sun is all around you as you make your way through the quiet streets.
The Mysterious Staircase of the Loretto Chapel
This chapel was built in the last 1800's by some smart design, without the main staircase to lead up to the choir loft. So the nuns prayed for days that the Lord would send them someone to help. Their prayer was answered when a mysterious man showed up soon after with a donkey and some tools asking for work.Using only a saw, a square, and some tubs of water (to shape the wood), the carpenter built this incredible spiral staircase. When the job was complete, the mysterious carpenter disappeared, with out pay or even thanks. Adding to the mystery, no one ever saw wood delivered to the chapel, and local lumber yards sold no wood to the mystery man. Oh, and did I mention the staircase has 33 steps, the same as Jesus' age at the crucifixion?
I had a breathtaking moment while taking in this miraculous staircase of the Loretto Chapel. This tourist attraction is usually swarming with people, but as my mom & I were busy taking pictures, everyone cleared out and we were able to enjoy the tiny chapel all to ourselves for a while. I was able to spend a nice quiet moment alone with the Lord to appreciate this beautiful work of art and give thanks for these precious peaceful moments.
The local Indians set up everyday in the town square and surrounding streets; proudly displaying their handcrafted jewelry, pots or rugs. I have never seen so many beautiful pieces of turquoise jewelry in my life!
I could have spent the whole weekend touring all of their shops, and talking with all the Indians about how they made each piece, but there just isn’t enough time in the day. I finally walked away with a ring and pennant.
When we got back to our hotel Friday night, it was surprisingly busy in the bar- so we had another drink and enjoyed the local entertainment- Tony C'de Baca playing his guitar and singing for the bar.
Out of nowhere some random man with a harmonica jumped up and started jamming with Tony.... the two had never meet or played together before... but you'd never know it! They sounded great. Just another reason why I absolutely love this laid back artsy city. Everyone is so open to artistic expression and collaboration. Tony & Harmonica Mike tore the house up!

Our last night there we strolled up Canyon Road to soak up the art scene, and tour all of the open galleries. I expected to only see a bunch of landscapes, and cowboy paintings, but was pleasantly surprised to find such a bustling arts community, and diverse range of talented work. I later came to find out that- next to NYC- Santa Fe is noted to have the best private galleries in the nation. We ended our gallery tour with dinner at the top of the hill on Canyon Road, at Santa Fe’s oldest restaurant & cantina- El Farol. This unsuspecting restaurant had some of the best Spanish tapas I have ever enjoyed. The back patio is quite the romantic setting- with garden lights strung all throughout, and music streaming in from the cantina in the front. It was the perfect closing to our relaxing, weekend getaway.

Trampled by the Amazon Woman
I was trampled on Friday.
I was just hanging out with my girlfriends at the latest hot spot in Dallas, Joyce, minding my own business. When out of nowhere this Amazon tribe of women came rushing through the very crowded bar. The tallest of them all, wearing her 4" Payless stilettos, was drunk stumbling worse than all of them, and my foot was caught in the mix.
I still limping today....
I understand these places get crowded, and we all bump in to one another from time to time- but if you're that tall and a little heavier set- you should really watch where you're stepping! And if you do happen to crush an unsuspecting bystander- at least have the curtsey to turn around and apologize for your elephant walk!
Okay, done venting.... Now I think I need some medical attention here.

Best road stop in Texas!
If you ever find yourself on a road trip in between Dallas & Houston you have to make a point to stop at this amazing smoke house in Centerville Texas. Woody's Smokehouse has 16 different flavors of Jerky- at TX road trip must have- Ask to try the Tender Buffalo Jerky **My favorite! This unsuspecting road stop also boasts hundreds of other snacks, jams, cheeses, and a barbecue! Along with my usual purchase of Buffalo Jerky, and Golden Corn Nuggets, I always like to try something new each time I stop. So this time, of the 25 different flavors to choose from, I thought I'd try the Scuppernog Jelly. I have no idea what a scuppernog is..... but I have never had anything bad from Woody's, and I figure it's probably the only place in TX you can taste a scuppernog- so here goes....

Bella Karolyi, will you be my Life Coach?
Surprisingly, one of my favorite things to watch in this years Olympics has not been Michael Phelps... yes he is a bad ass, and he has amazing abs... but my favorite part of this years Olympic games is watching Bella Karolyi's commentary on our ladies in the gym. I think we could all use a little Bella in our lives to cheer us on, and call out all of the jerks in life that give us bad scores.
Dear Bella,
Dear Bella,
Will you be my Life Coach?
I am no Nastia Liukin or Shawn Johnson, but I was on the Dulles High School Gymnastics team for a year. I get so fired up when I hear you cheer on our girls. If you could just hang out in the background of my life to cheer me on too, I would really appreciate it. And then when life's judges give me bad scores, you could yell at everyone esle around to let them know that I really deserve a 9.9 instead of that undeserved 8.5.
I think it would do wonders for me.
Sincerely,
Ang

Quick Chicago trip
It was just a quick 2 day trip to Chicago this week. But always a good time, none the less. Summers in Chicago are always amazing. The weather is perfect to chill out with good friends on a patio with a beer and good conversation. Which is exactly what I did today.
I'm really looking forward to going back at the end of the month when I'll be staying for a lot longer and I can fully enjoy this last summer month in the Windy City.

My Fabulous Birthday Party
This past weekend came and went in in one big, fun filled blur. To better help me tell the story, you can click here to see some of the Party Pics.
I'll probably be posting a video similar to what I made for Lesley soon as well. Be on the look out for it.
I felt so loved to have so many people come out to celebrate my birthday on Saturday. We probably had well over 100 come and go through Dolce to wish me a happy birthday, buy me a birthday shot, or try to give me a birthday spanking (thanks Shanna :) )
My guests for the weekend Lauren, Chad, & Shanna rock my face off! I am so blessed to have such awesome friends. So far, 25 is shaping up to be a pretty great year!

Love Profile
I had so much fun taking the first Visual DNA test that I had to go back and see my Love Profile. Apparently I'm A Wistful Soul... I'd say this is pretty accurate.
Show me what your Love Type is, How Your Mind Works, or your Party Time Profile. Don't forget to share the results. This is a great way to waste a few minutes.

I never pass along these silly personality profile tests, but a friend of mine showed me this one and I thought it was really interesting. It's a Visual DNA test. To take your own Click Here.
